Indio, Riverside County
Indio calls itself the City of Festivals. The Coachella music festival has been held at the Empire Polo Club here since 1999, and the Stagecoach country music festival follows on the same grounds each spring. Indio is also the oldest city in the Coachella Valley, incorporated in 1930 after growing up around a Southern Pacific railroad stop.
